World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. Upgrades also increase bonuses such as Crit chance and damage from PvE.
For example a weapon that has the upgrade template that is ending in % will gain 3% attack damage every time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).
The cost of upgrading an item increases as it reaches the item's current level. The cost increases as the item's level rises.
Components
Upgrade components can be incorporated into weapons, armor and trinkets in order to give them a stat boost or add a bonus effect. These can be obtained by crafting, buying from vendors, trading with other players or looting. Some upgrades can also be accompanied by specific cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can be placed in equipment that has a slot to accommodate them; the item must have been at the very least upgraded to blue level in order for the component to be inserted. Upgrade components, unlike other mods can only be applied only once. They are not able to be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and enrichments are a particular kind of upgrade component that is used for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment as well as the back items that are not ascending. Infusions and enrichments can be recovered by salvaging gear that is ascended or completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.
A suffix or prefix can be added to an upgrade, which alters the name of the item it is used on (for instance, 'Canthan Armor Insignia',' changes to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase an item's Mark Level, or Rarity, allowing players create stronger versions of the equipment using the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than would be required to reach the same level of upgrade through normal methods.
A boost upgrade can alter the attack or defense characteristics of a weapon or armor. These upgrades are available to be crafted from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed Mechanic. These upgrades can be obtained by purchasing them in the cash shop, or by collecting them from enemies when upgrading other gear.
Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a better-quality version of the item will be revealed during the next reset. This gives players an incentive to upgrade their gear, even if they are unsure how much it will be improved after the reset.
Whether a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process can be expensive, and there is a high risk that the item may be obsolete or even break if it fails. A failed upgrade will ruin Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to decrease or eliminate the possibility of failure. Certain upgrades also provide the player a bonus if they are they are reinserted.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to upgrade the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets with special functions. Glyphs increase the effectiveness of all nodes in a radius around them, including pre-existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways. We recommend upgrading them as fast as possible to level 15.
You will often find in the endgame that putting Glyphs is the best way to upgrade your gear. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded directly to level 15 and offer a large boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to climb higher nodes faster.
Glyphs, the sole upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and then replaced with no restrictions, are the most common. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and replaced using the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.
Each Glyph has a specific range of values that it can improve a stat by, and the value is shown when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can choose to replace it with another Glyph with the same rank, or a higher rank, which will boost the overall value of the Glyph.
Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of the Gem Store bundle or purchase the glyphs with certain tools that allow unlimited use as well as during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt will drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.
Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs you'll need them to be placed on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that will boost the stats of a specific set of nodes in a radius surrounding the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph it could be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats.
Glyphs will increase the number of nodes connected to them, which is why it is best to put Glyphs in the most important spots on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. Druids for instance, should place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might be able to place them near their primary damage nodes.
Leveling
The upgrade system of items allows players to increase the power of certain items by adding upgraded components. This is known as "upping". Each upgradeable item has a level that determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum level of ilvl 385. Each level of an item requires different components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.
Certain upgrades require a specific ingredient to activate. This ingredient can be obtained by making Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or purchased from some NPCs. Each completed Upgrade Recipe earns several Technology Points. These points can be used for upgrading an item. Once enough points are earned you will be eligible to claim the upgrade and also receive the bonuses.
When an item is upgraded by a player, the base item is replaced with a new item of the same kind. This means that the same piece of armor will be transformed into an weapon or shield once upgraded. The new item will come with a bonus of its own. This can be a disadvantage because it can make the item more expensive, even if you don't need it.
The upgrades to items can be rerolled, provided that the player has enough reroll tokens to do so. This will cause the item to be exchanged for a new one, with the level 1 base, and a completely different set of bonuses. This can be useful for certain items, but it shouldn't be done regularly, as it can use up many resources.
Certain upgrades can be rerolled many times which increases their value and allowing the player to customize their equipment. A good example of this is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an advantage when a player repeatedly enters and leaves the water (or swims like dolphins). The item can be upgraded many times, increasing the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item can be extremely valuable in PvP as an item that is properly rolled it could be worth between 20 and 50x its value without being upgraded.
Requirements
The item upgrade r allows players to raise the level of their equippable equipment (armor, weapons, and trinkets) above ilvl385 by presenting the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces also increase its base defense and weapon upgrades items increase the damage they deal and also increase their strength and dexterity.
All items can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception of hero gear that can be upgraded with eight upgrades. Every time you upgrade an object, it has a chance of failing. The rate of failure increases when you exceed the maximum number. Failures will cause the item to return to its original state, which requires the player to pay for more items than if they stopped upgrading after the maximum amount.
If an item fails to upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. Additionally, the item will lose any bonus it earned, including crit chance and attack damage, as well as any additional effects associated with that effect (for instance, an increase in heal over time or the speed of reloading). The player is able to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.
When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that if a weapon gains an increase in its crit chance the increase is applied before any increase in attack damage. Slots is a new attribute that has been added to the definitions of items. The value is calculated each time an upgrade occurs.
The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is based on the rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost for upgrading non-premium items is the same as the base value of the upgrade--for example, a common equipment item may have five upgrades with a cost of 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items will come with the lowest cost for each additional upgrade.
Premium items could have different upgrade requirements than regular gear. For instance they may require less sowels, however they may require more minerals and orons. Whatever the case, players will have to visit the NPC [ArmorBoboko in Central Flarine. Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they wish to upgrade. Each upgrade to equipment will require different amounts of ingredients for upgrading, in addition to the expenses listed above.
